Lovley specimen what's your plans when he gets bigger, I've got a lovley pond with some normal wels in if he wants some friends. ;)

Sorry guys I wish I caught mine, was very difficult to get them in the uk think there's only around a handful of people over here which keep them.

As Wayne says, wels are invasive species in the UK. Follen probably had to jump through many hoops to get a license to keep one.

It took a while to get a permit to keep them the reason is many lakes an water ways do not want a foreign predator withe the appetite of a wels. I did have some pics but I lost them will net him this weekend, have had him since he wacs just over a foot. Since introuduced many frogs have disapeard from the pond lol. He was feeding on sinking pellets but recently have changed to larger halibat pellets and he has really bulked up.

Not sure about outside the uk but halibat pellets are used over here as bait for carp, there quite pricey about £10 a kilo over here, but this will really feel yours out quick. Must say again love your one very rare to see a full albino, what temp does yours live at wonder how drastic the growth differnce is with a warmer tempreature.

Never heard of them - I suppose it would be easier to just feed them strips of market fish every couple of days, when they get to that size.
I keep mine in an unheated tank, so the water is probably mid 60's. I have NO desire to experience "drastic growth" - I want his growth to be natural, and healthy.
He eats anything now - but is favorites are leftover meats and fish from dinners. His staple diet is still large Hikari and Ken's pellets, with some FD Jumbo Krill - all of my fish get a very varied, mixed diet.
