That was probably because he was going to eat it. I don't know about SeaWorld but at a local aquarium they have their barbs. Yes they allow you to interact with the rays. It seems the rays are quite attracted to people. There are employees at every touch station and they give you info and warnings. You sign something upon entering that says animals are unpredictable and you are responsible for your safety and will be held accountable for any misconduct. I've only been once it's like $25 per person to get in and it's not that big. I've been to nicer and larger for the same or less.
Well technically catfish do secrete a venom from their spines. It's just a very mild neurotoxin that is designed to only cause the nerves to flare in pain as a deterrent to would-be predators. Yeah it'll ache and throb for a couple hours but it's definitely not enough to go to the hospital over, it'll make ya regret what ya did tho that's for sure. Lol can't even begin to count how many times I've gotten stung while fishing.
