How thick was the glass and also how thick was the foam board it was placed on? Most of the time all glass tanks break is because of uneven pressure distribution or the glass is too thin.
 
Glass was probably 5mm, it wasnt on foam but on wood which is is a little thicker.

Could be anything to do with a faulty heater?
 
I heard the rumor that All glass had a problem with breakage, but havn't heard or found anything on it. but a lot of aquarium companies have warranties... so it must be for a reason right?
 
If it leaked enough to lower the water below the heating element the actual break could have come later do too thermal stress.

Thats a thought. That is the beauty of using safty glass on tanks. They don't crack, they SHATTER! :headshake
