I was out getting the mail today when my neighbor yelled over to me. I could see him on the other end of his yard standing next to something white colored. I ran inside and got my camera and snapped some pics of this guy. It's a very unsual colored Red Tailed Hawk. I've never seen one this light colored before. I guess it killed a crippled squirrel next to his bird feeder. The squirrel showed up a few days earlier missing a foot and the hawk put him out of it's misery. It was funny that the hawk wasn't scared of us one bit. It just continued eating it's dinner while we watched. I took these pics and vids from about 7-8 feet away! You don't get too many opportunities like this not to.

You certainly were lucky to take the pics and vid! Great shots!

You are a lucky man. That is one of the most unusual hawks I've ever seen, and it's gorgeous!!! Great photos! You should post these photos in the color morph sticky in the photo lounge.

GREAT JOB that is amazing ive never seen one like that before, its beautiful

Thanks for the complements on the photos. I went out to check on it a few hours ago and it's gone. I still wonder why it was so friendly. Perhaps it was really hungry but it showed absolutely no aggression while 3 people stood around it. Maybe it belonged to a Falconer or something.

amazing pics...looks like the late spring early fall there... wheres all the snow.. i am moving there.... lol... that hawk is one of the most beutiful i have seen... healthy beautiful color and feathers are thick... feel bad for squirrel....
