At zero back pressure in the filters, the pump will push 3600gph at six feet. (20 turnovers.)

your wrong, the pump at 0' not going thru the caniters will do 3600gpg. At 6' without the canisters it will pump 2400gph, thru the canisters with no media at 6' will be around 2200gph at the tank and less than that with media in the filters. I have installed this same pump before multiple times and it is a great pump but the it will get bogged down in a closed system with multiple canisters and to many elbows, witch you will have a few of hooking up the OC canisters and at the return to the tank.

You also said that there were internal overflows in the tank, Oceanic, AGA? This is not a true closed system and it will aid in gas exchange, benefitting the tank with oxygen.

You are correct. Not a "true" closed system because of the overflows. I don't know who made the tank. Pic is attached.

I had a brain fart. I knew better :nilly:

So listen, back to the questions....
Do I need the Durso Standpipes?
Should I drill the hole in the top of the Durso if I do need them?
Should I have the intake as close to the water surface as possible?
Do I return the water into the overflow?

I finally got the tank in the house.
