Shelves can be made from bricks turned on end and a cap stone of some sort. Granite boulders work well also.

I have used the dish dryers the plastic ones in the pond to put a heater in to keep the pacu away from it. I dont see why you couldnt do it. It would be a good place for any fry to hide also ..
