Cloudy Eye Turn to Slime

guys, do you have any ideas what to do and how to treat my cichla monoculus problem? She had this slime on both of the eyes and what I did was to put a heater 29-30 degrees and applied API Melafix but I think the medicine is not responding to it...Both eyes now are kinda covered with slime, what should I do. I've already transferred her to a hospital tank and still treating w/ API. Please help thanks

I'm thinking melafix would irritate eye tissues that are already aggravated. and it sounds like your fish's system is trying to protect against the irritant.

adding on, water change + melafix + keep light levels LOW. and on the side, melafix CAN cause defects to the fries of the fish if u attempt to breed them after u use melafix on them.

Never use melafix. I can't stress that enough. I will NEVER use that stuff if I have any fish worth a damn in the tank. A big water change and prime is all you need.
