Cloudy new tank syndrome

LOL you need written documents to prove there is BB in the detritus from an aquarium filter???
Hello; Well yes to back up the claim that up to 20% of the detritus that is squeezed out of dirty filter material is made up of the bb. You made the claim. That claim does not fit with the current understanding about the bb that we all try to get established in a tank. I used a source to back up my understanding that the bb make a sticky film that attaches them to surfaces.

I fear your claim may not be correct based on my current understanding of bb. If the claim is backed up by some sort of evidence then it becomes easier to accept.

Also I have added an external filter booster with different foams, so i was thinking of removing the carbon and some of the floss and adding more ceramic rings or bio balls, what's your views on this, of any other ideas there are 4 compartments In external filter

Hello Sir. Yes do the typical dose of the fluval bacteria. When I was seeding my new tanks, I also drop a little extra into my filter media. That way it has a nice place to cling onto in order to start the colony. Might as well be in your filter, right?

GL with your new aquarium.

old tank water is just that, old tank water, nothing in it you need including the bacteria you are looking for, if you can get a cycled sponge from some one, or ceramic noodles, that will help. squeezing out the sponge and dumping that in will not really do anything. on its own 4 to 6 weeks to cycle. adding some established media can help, depending on your bio load as to how much it will help.

Is that the one that you “recharge it “with bleach then hit it with prime to reactivate it?
