Hi,
My tank has been set up for about a month and a half. Tank is cycled and all params are good, however the tank has gotten cloudy in the past couple of days? what do I do and what are your opinions on what could have caused this? I have been stirring up the sand once a day for the past week but the tank hasn't gotten cloudy until yesterday, so what do I do? Thanks in advance

today I added some aquaclear sponges to one of my canisters and I also added a cascade carbon "filt a pack". I did another waterchange today and didn't feed that much. How long should it take before I notice a difference? thanks

About 12 hours.. Normally over night.. When I set up my 29g a bit ago, the water got cloudy due to a film on bogwood, over night it cleared.. Filter media plays a role, along with good filtration and clean water.

What filters do you have?

I have the cascade 1200 and 1500 canister. It's been cloudy for the past 3 days, I've done a 1/3 waterchange yesterday and another today. I also made sure to feed less today and like I said I added more media. Thanks

What size tank, and how much gph are your filters? That should help, but just because it helps tomorrow, doesnt mean you wont have the same problem again. You need to fix it in general. Let us know how tomorrow goes.

The tanks 150 gallons, one filter is 315 gph and the other is 350 gph.

I did stir up the gravel like 3 days in a row, I'm thinking that killed off a lot of the bb and that's causing the cloudyness?

I would suggest another filter, On my 150g I have 2 emperor 400s and 2 canister filters.. And that was decent.. You should really look into buying an emperor 400, it will make a difference in your water quality.. Bio-wheels are great. It shouldn't have killed any BB, but that could cause the cloudnyess, give it time, but more filtration with good filter media will help overall.

Alright, thanks. I can't add a powerfilter because the tank is to close to the wall and there's not enough room. I will look into adding another canister though and filling it all with bio media. Thanks again

did you left any uneaten food in there? do you have overstock fish? those could cost cloudy tank.

to many fish will put out to many waist and if you dont have enough fileration and doesnt do enough water change then it can happen.

uneaten food can also cost the water cloudy as well.

I'm pretty sure there is no uneaten food in the tank.
