As for the water clarifier, I agree, I wouldn't try any until the tank cycles again and is much clearer on its own, this will just mask the problem, but after the fact it can be a nice addition to make the tank crystal clear on water change days.
Prime is something most mfk'ers would consider next to essential for aquarium keeping. Use the recommended dosage every water change to make your tap is water safe. You may already have another brand of water conditioner but it seems to me on the site that prime is the universal preference.
Stability, as was mentioned above, will help speed up the growth of new bacteria to get the tank back in track sooner.
Test kits are also very important as you cannot know how to fix any problem that may come up without knowing the actual cause. Well worth the investment and they last a long time.
Out of curiosity, which method did you use to cycle your tank? If you were using ammonia how much were you adding? It could be that the stock is producing a higher level of ammonia then you were using to cycle.
