Yea I had this problem about a month ago. I talked to the guy at the lfs and he said it was caused by my vacuuming gravel and changing the filter cartridge at the same time. he told me in a couple of days it would go away and it did.

;)
No matter what filtration you have if you clean to much your tank will get a bacterial bloom. Heck i vacuumed 1/3 of my gravel and did a 50% wc the other day and i got a slightly cloudy tank. Its been established for a year and a half and is OVER filtered. Just dont do as much and you should be fine.

PS: BTW im running an Eheim Canister filter, Penguin 350 HOB, and an undergravel filter.

How long has your tank been setup? What is your filtration? Have you tested your water parameters such as ammonia, nitrite and nitrates?

Never have I had a bacteria bloom after cleaning. My 180g gets a 50% w/c every 4~5 days. I can see getting a bacteria bloom if you don't clean frequently and then do a large w/c and cleaning.

How about an update?
