My 75g has cloudy water and i can not get it to go away! I've done water changes and everything, but nothing helps. I've changed the filters and it has two filters on it, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks. :nilly:

let the bioload build itself back up since you changed the filters.. bad idea. if anything you should have changed them one at a time.
if u can move your fish to a dif tank for a while. DONT DO WATER CHANGES. you'll mess up the bioload thats trying to recolonize. i'll post this again... you lack nitrosomas

How long has your tank been setup?

Do you test your water parameters, ammonia, nitrite, nitrates or pH? If do what are the levels?

You mentioned that you changed the filters, does this mean you cleaned them and changed the cartridge or did you get new filters?

What type filters(brand and model) are you running?

There are a few reasons why your tank is cloudy, so provide as much info as possible.

Nice effort on your diagram, you left out water changes though. Also do some research on Brown Blood Disease, you then may have a different opinion on nitrites being only semi harmful.

Tanks are cycled when the ammonia and nitrite levels are zero and there is an ever increasing levels of nitrate.

the box is saying what the last sentence says, just a little more complicated..
i made that a while ago because i was bored and for a reminder to me about cycling, i used to have major problems with it. (first tank :()

i only have nitrites as semi harmful because its not as toxic as ammonia but can still be toxic in high levels. i also believe nitrate can be toxic at high levels.. so ever increasing could also be bad for fish.

i left out water changes because i dont recommend them while a tank is cycling... you will end up with the wrong amounts of beneficial bacteria.

Like I said research Brown Blood disease, you'll find that high nitrites are more lethal then high ammonia.

Nitrates should always be ever increasing and reduced through water changes.
Why would you cycle a tank with fish and plants in it anyhow.

assuming the fish is normal without disease.

diagram shows how cycling works, not how to cycle. how everything happens, how everything becomes what, where it all comes from.

i made that a long while ago, and to add every little disease is would be a pain. with the disease would be an exception where it would be more dangerous, but one exception (and probably an uncommon one as seeing i didnt find much when researching) is not enough to label it as harmful.

edit: i found more on it and i guess it really isn't a disease, but needs to have high levels of nitrite.. nitrite is not as toxic as ammonia, which is why i put it as semi harmful..

Option 1: buy bio spira, check your lfs refrigerated section, look for BioSpira or DrTim's Aquatics One and Only Nitrifying Bacteria to have your tank cycled overnight.

Option 2: remove your fish and let the tank sit for 2 weeks checking water params until nitrite and ammonia = 0. maybe buy a cheap fish that can handle tough water conditions while it cycles.

next time, change one filter at a time, or better yes just rinse the filter for about 10-15 seconds with COLD not hot water. also what fish are in the 75g?

i recommend getting a sponge filter, they hold large amounts of beneficial bacteria.
