Almost all fish medications have the potential to be dangerous and/or toxic at high enough dosage rates, or if used excessively. It's been stated by at least one researcher that excessive use of metronidazole can cause organ damage in fish.

Not just fish medications, all medications including human, can be toxic if high dosage is taken. Recently, there was a danger warning for taking Tylenol due to over dosage from simultaneously taking other medications that also contain acetaminophen.

Clout is a broad spectrum anti protozoa/parasite medication and is safe to use if you follow the recommended dosage.

So i tried just about everything from tetra parasite guard to api general cure and epsom treatment. My ebjds are still pooping white and already lost two. As a last resort i just nuked the tank with clout to see if it helps. Only using one treatment to see if it helps.

Clout IMO is a viable tool if as stated it is used correctly.

However in this case as the OP has stated all the meds he's tried which were all anti-parasitic with no luck, I would suggest the possibilty of a bacterial infection of the digestive tract and not IPs at all. Not unlike GTs young EBJDs are very susceptable to digestive system issues that present themselves with similar symptoms to IPs and are often missdiagnosed as such. If you would answer a few questions maybe we could try another approch.

Are the fish eating? What have you been feeding them? Can you post water parameters ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, Ph, hardness if available? Water temperature, size of fish and how long have you had them? Are there any tank mates? If so what?

It is well know smoking causes cancer, however it woudnt miss people who pop up saying "Damn _____ has smoked during all his/her life and died of something non cancer related".

That doesnt prove that smoking isnt actually dangerous to our health.

The fact of the matter is that trichlorfon is a dangerous compound and has been banned in some states and counties, so DONT USE IT CONTINUOSLY IT ISNT SUCH AS METHILENE BLUE OR SALT IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

I am relaxed, it is only I want to emphasize that the usage of this compound should be taken as a last resource and not in frequent basis, perhaps some kids who are new to fish keeping could read this and think clout is a very good and safe medication which is not, trichlorfon represent a risk to human health.

At the end of the day everyone is free to do whatever everyone wants to do in his/her tanks, his/her fish and health.

You are taking very little risk if you follow the instruction which is based on research that the recommended dosage is a non-toxic to the fish (but toxic to the pathogens). What can be the worst risk than losing the fish without treatment.

Not quite, Tricholfon gets absorbed throughout your skin in case you get in touch with the susbstance, so getting your hands into a tank medicated with trichlorfon means it is very likely the compound enters in your body. Yeah I know it is only very little of it in clout so for most sure you will be safe but anyway I wouldnt like my 9 y o kid or any other kid to put his hands into the water of a tank medicated with trichlorfon.
