im moveing my 2 bichirs in to an 60G costom and was thinking about putting a pair of clow knifes in there. will this work and if so is there anything specal that i should know about the clown knifes?

No way dude...thats way to small even for a single clown in the long run...and using it as a clown growout won't be too much fun....
they get big....you'll need at least a 300g to keep 'em for life...

Yeah it will work for a short period of time, and if your poly's are too small the clown knife will outgrow and eat them. Not to mention they (CK) aren't fond of tankmates of their own kind and putting 2 in a 60 thats just asking for it. Oh and they can grow to 3 feet.

My vote is for the no column. There are plenty other knives that would work in a 60. Try a large african knife.

wow lol on the bichir page they all said it was good. and yes it would be a grow out tank but the clowns are like 2" and my bichirs are about 7". how fast do clowns grow?

they were only answering if they were compateble, but of course you cant keep fish that gets 2-3 feet in a 60G tank, thats a obvious :D

They grow fast, but not super fast, my first one went from 3" to 8" in 7months.

ok that will work my friend and i are buiding tanks so i can make one to speck as needed thanks for the addvice

get a tank ATLEAST 180 gallons with a 6X2X2 foot print that will last them a while

i have 2 big CKs in my 180 with polys, not a problem atall

It would be fine, but not for life (depending on the bichir species)

I've had a bichir and a CK in a 125g for some time now and they get along just fine. in fact they often 'hang' together behind the driftwood like buddies. but as everyone has already told you - 60g will not be enough in the long run.
