Well I don't know if this is the rights place for this, so sorry if it is. But my clown seems like he is hosting the corner! He just points his head down and hovers on the corner, he comes out and eats, then he just goes back to the corner by the filter. Filter is a 325 gph Aqueon hob 55. Perms are perfect salinity 1.024 and it's a 29 gallon with 31 lbs of live rock. No other tank mates as I'm making sure its stable before I add more. Any ideas?

Ive had clown loaches do all sorts of weird things. They lay on thier side, wedge themselves into crevaces etc, etc. That behavior is new to me but I'm not entirely surprised. They like to school so it may be lost and not knowing what to do if its in the tank all by itself. As long as its still eating and not displaying any signs of stress then my guess is it will be fine. Adding some more loaches would be best though.

They are the goofiest fish in existance. Any behavior is normal for them. My CL's have done that, taken naps in the middle of the tank, and slept ontop each other 5 loaches high.

Lol why does everyone think I am talking about loaches, in talking about this guy!

That's a weird looking clown loach? Are you sure its a clown loach?

Jk yes it's normal. They fin some where they're comfortable ad "host" it. Ive had them host corners, overflows, power heads. In a month or so he will find somewhere in the rocks. Get him a friend while he's small or hell kill the other one once he's a she

I'm going to get a Valentini puffer and some sort of watchman goby. So I should get another clown? That would be cool if I could because I always thought the almost full black ones are cool.

Hahaha. That's too good!!

Ive got ya! I've got myself an odd clown. She sometimes hides in a cave I built for her but most of the time is too good for it. Lol. Lately she's been just sitting on the sand in one spot. Don't know what it is about that spot, but she goes there and gets really still and just sits. It's odd. But as soon as I get up to do something or go sit with them, she pops up and gets in my face. I think it's normal behavior. As long as they are active and eating, they are fine.

Not necessarily. I have a 2 year old female and introduced a new male in the tank after her mate died. He was tiny, just a baby, but still, he's there and they never fight. They are not a mated pair, but they get along great! Here's hoping... Lol
