i cant free up a tank for him today... i just got back home and he is still alive, just floating in the corner..
If it could help i was thinking of adding bacterial meds since it has bloody scratches and bloody-looking fins, sympthoms of bacterial infection

Antibiotics will probably kill your biofilter and cause an ammonia spike, further adding stress. Can you get even a 10-gal for treatment? This fish can't swim and needs to be isolated. Underfilling the tank may help it right itself.

You have been having deaths left and right it seems Poga... first the bichirs and now a knife.

Something is up man. You either have some bug in your tank or something is whoopin ass when your not watching. The same bloody scratches and fins were on the bichirs too if i recall.

yes somethings up :( but it definetly not from fighting.
I just put the knife in a 10gallon plastic tank with a filter, airstone, heater and meds.. he was more active when i got home and trying to swim.. hope he does well in the hospital tank.

Good for you -- I hope he makes it!

Anything

Been 24 hours since i put it in a hospital tank and he looks much better, the air filled stomach is gone and he swims in the normal position every once i a while :)
He has also gained back some of his strength as i can not hold him anymore.

here is a pic that i took last night when the knife went in the hospital tank...
