Clown Knife not eating

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you can also try smelt and other types of fish from the grocery store. just cut up into small enough pieces and rinse well.

Thanks for all the advice guys/girl :) I'm not sure what he was eating before as the fish shop that took him in didn't ask the old owner :(

BUT... I did get him to eat today by dropping a prawn right in front of his face then he wolfed it down, I continued this and he ate 3 :D I'd rather get him on pellets but I'm glad he has eaten.

He does have a place to hide and does hide a lot, I haven't seen him being bullied but I did see my GT take a pot shot at him as he swum by and he didn't fight back he just hid again. I am a little worried that the tankmates maybe a bit much for him to handle so I'll keep an eye on the situation.

Are your CK's active?

my ck is only active during feeding and when the lights go out.

I have found over the years that larger knives (over 8") are quite shy when introduced to a new tank. They will eat, but only during complete darkness at first. Continue leaving food for it just before you turn the lights out. The CK is an awesome predator and finds food quite quickly. Good luck!

:iagree:

I stuffed them with nls pellets today :D I might make some moon lights then so I can watch him.

that will be great..love to see .. and glad that boy is eating..

My CK spent the first week hanging in the corner of the tank, on day 6 I had added about 8 tall plants to the tank and it was like he just woke up, very active and curious now and also likes beef heart pour in and back up from the tank, he still wont eat if I am right in front of the tank.
