depends on the availability, but 10$ is fair. I paid that much for mine at 4in.

Why so cheap? Are they regularly captive bred?

on average they go for $5-10 for 3-6" but i got a 12" and a 22" for free just keep your eyes open as with most readily available fish that get 3 feet long someone local will probably have one that grows large and eats all its tankmates and wants it gone.
