Clown Knife Question........

When my CK was bout 8inches it always used to hide whenever the light was on. I went on a 3 week holiday nd forgot 2 turn off the lights so the lights were on all day for a 3 week period. When i got back it no longer hid, but swam around with the lights on . Maybe because i left the lights on 24-7 in got aclimitised to swimming around in lit conditions and no longer was frightened by a bright tank..

Mine comes out periodically during the day Mostly for food an trips up to the surface.

My Royal Clown Knifes, Gold Clown Knifes, Ghost Knifes, Glass Knifes, Pom pom Knifes, Albino Pom Pom Knifes, and my African Brown Knifes. They hate lights, So I put many driftwoods on the other side of the tank. They seems liked it. They swimming around the driftwoods. I got some arowanas like etc. Silver Arowanas, Black Arowanas, and 1 pair of super red arowanas(In Chinese They Called it"橘紅龍"). I'm Chinese. All my knifes are about 10" or Over *(I forgot.)* I brought them why they are small, Like about 3"~4". Very Small. Now they are in my 800 Gallon fish tank. My friends made it for me. That was my Birthday Present. My knifes loves Shrimps, Small Gold Fishes, and Hikari Food Sticks. I've been taking care for over 3 years... That's a very long time. I just brought the world largest freshwater fishes. Called "Giggas" The group of arowanas. It's A Pair, too. Love it! I don't have pictures right now but I'll post it soon.~

my clown knife always hid for about 1.5 years or until he was 10 inches. after that he was always out and about. hope this helps
