My ck went from 3 inches to 20 inches in about 2.5 years. Last month I moved him from a 125 gallon to a 350 gallon tank. I expect him to grow another 6-12 inches. He is housed with other fish (all over 8 inches long) and is very tolerant of them all. He eats frozen shrimp, frozen silversides, some tilapia and crab, as well as swallows algae tablets whole. He eats every other day and I alternate feeding days between meat and vegetable. When I first got him, my mom had a few fish tanks with guppies that were reproducing like crazy and I got about 300 guppies from her that went in with the ck when he was a baby. He ate all but about 20 guppies and has lived with this colony of guppies ever since. The guppy school never gets any bigger or smaller, it seems to be grazed on just right to keep a balance in the system now. GO figure! Those guppies moved across with him into the 350 gallon and man are they happy! I see him occasionally grab one but his tank mates probably eat more guppies than he does.
