Thanks. The common name is probably used for most of the larger growing chitala in markets, and not just lopis.
 
its always funny seeing animals we view as pets being sold as food. i saw a little package of spiny eels (macrognathus aculeatus) at my local asian market. All packed up like little sausages.

Mad tasty! My dad grew up in Thailand and he used to catch these clown knives in the rivers there. He said they make them into fish meatballs. He said they're the most popular fish to make meatballs with. So anytime you order noodles with fish meatballs, it's probably a clown knife you're eating.
