bellevue, ne
i have an adolecent clown knife about 8-10" and i just got the new 75 gal tank hes in set up and biologicly running and i dont have any decorations in the tank just some small dark gravel
i want to plant the tank but i dont know what species of plants to get and on the other hand i dont want to limit his mobility around the tank

any suggestions on planting the tank or should i just go get rocks and wood to put around the tank?

I have a ck also, I just have a few pieces of driftwood, one cave and a few tall fake plants in the back corners he likes to hide behind the plants all day and likes to wonder into the cave from time to time till lights out. I dont keep anything in the front that way he still has plenty of room to move.

CK then to hide in caves and having too many plants my block there mobility. They hare quite agile and should be able to move around without difficulties as long as you give them enough space. In the wild, they tend to hide between plants, rocks, or diftwood and amush their prey as they lung out from the crevices.

How long have you had him? He may still be settling in, try turning out the lights for a while and watch him.
Do you have anyother fish with him?

Mine will only go into the rocks when no other fish are in there and only when the tank is dark.

Well you may want to move the angel your ck may make a meal out of it in the future. The bala maybe okay due to the fact they grow large as well. I wouldnt worry about overdueing the decor you can always move things out when you notice the ck is getting cramped. Have to post some pics when your done.
