Clown knife troubles

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
right now I have 2 ck, I have 20inch+ and 4inch one(bronze), my 20inch+ kills pellets as soon as they hit the surface. my little growout now is still on feeder but gonna start starving it.

what works for me is that I feed a crap load of feeders each day and once it is feeding good then I stop and starve them then they end up giving in real easy. It only takes a couple for them to inhale the pellets. :D thats how I trained my armatus off live, now its smashing hikari foodsticks and tilapia

my solution for you is to get market shrimp. packaged. the frozen ones. they are about 5 bucks but will last you a super long time due to the fact that it is only 3 inches. cut it up in small pieces so he can swallow it. thats how i got my 4 incher to be a 10 incher now. he loves his shrimp. good luck bro

Okay I will try that. Thank you!

Oddly enough he's eating flake now more than anything else 0.o sniffs the blood worms and nibbles at pellets. But he just loves flake.....o.0

Thats probably because the flakes are easier to see and eat? I know clown knives have bad vision sometimes during the day... so maybe the color of the flakes? and the easiness of sucking them up compared to Pellets? though bloodworms should do the same but Mine doesnt eat blood worms either... I bout a CK 4 days ago... and hes not really eating either...

My clown knife will not eat blood worms, however he loves pellets. He even comes to the front of the tank when I enter the room begging for pellets. I guess they are all different . Just don't give up your clown will be fine.

I hope he starts eating for you and it is very possible! I think they have a good sense of smell though so you'd think he would smell the blood worms but idk. He just may not like them!

Thank you very much! Yah all of my angel fish do that too. He is looking healthy an continues to eat flake and nibble at pellets. He comes out of his favorite hiding spot more as well! Just love the way he glides around the tank. He seems to enjoy the company of the African brown knife. They hang out together quite a bit.
