Mine is not shy hes 5.5" hes grown 1.5" in a month. he swims about and is an aggressive feeder. it eats frozen fish and jbl cichlid pellets.
it fights with my eel a bit he has a bit of fungus but its under control.
i also have a 22" ck in my pond who belongs to a mate he took 1 year to reach 14"
they grow quick in the first year but slow after that.
