Clown Loach Fin Rot

Does anybody think this little 9" arowana could be stressing the large clowns? The one looks the worst is the large 8" and he is regularly swimming up and down in one corner yet the aro doesn't mess with them one bit and they have way more than enough hiding places. I'm also not sure but I think he seems to do it mostly after water changes.
Nah that silver isn't big enough to stress them... Did you try bacterial meds? And if they seem like they are acting up after a water change it might be something in your water. City water gets a lot of stuff put into it.

WHOA! Nice fish!

Ya I wouldn't think the aro would be the problem either. Especially since when he's doing that up down stuff, he does it even when the aro is right there inches from him. Again, they have tons of hiding places as well. I have done a treatment of paraguard and kanaplex but their fins haven't healed up yet. They haven't appeared to get any worse either though. I don't have much choice on the city water but I'll start focusing on smaller, more frequent water changes. My 55 that has 11 loaches, a fire eel, 2 tire tracks, and 4 gourami never have a single problem. It's always just these 5 xl loaches.

Here's their 125 setup. As you can see, they ALWAYS say hidden when there's ANY movement in the room. I'm just going to get them healed up and then sell them. No fun having fish you can't enjoy....

It might be worth putting your smaller loaches in with the larger ones to see if they help make them more comfortable and draw them out before you sell them

Not possible. The small loaches are only 2 inchers and would make a nice meal for the 14" bicher. Well, til he got an eye spine in his mouth. Btw, anybody want to buy a 14" ornate bichir? lol

Yeah just keep up on the water changes. Bacterial infections take time to get rid of and isn't the easiest. How many doses of kanaplex have you done. I've treated loaches for bacterial infection that took about two weeks to show normal behavior again.

I've done two doses Kplex. Did the first then water changes 3 days later then another dose yesterday. Ordered more paraguard and will do another round of that before I head out of town.

Once they're healed, anybody interested in 4 7" wild caught CL's? :(
