Clown Loach growth issues

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I drop sinking pellets down a PVC pipe. It works great and the loaches have figured out that the pipe means food, so they swarm around the end.

Didn't think anything was going to work right til i got them separated. Bought a small 50 litre tank and have the 5 in there, i'll grow them out then reintroduce them.

I have a 100gal aquarium with 5 clowns, and 6 bala sharks. I also have 2 tinfoils.
I would just like to point out that I have a 100G with 5 CLs, 3 Balas, 2 Tinfoils who recently passed away, and a common pleco.

I just wanted to point that out :D

I have 10 Clowns in with 3 Bala Sharks and 3 Tin Foil Barbs. My Clowns swim to the top of the tank when I approach it and lift the lid. I would have thought that your Clowns would have started to do the same.

If you want your loaches to grow very fast then feed them frozen mussels. The red colouring on the loaches will also get better.

I agree with the others but also loaches are nocturnal so try feeding at lights out

I read the same thing but mine are anything but nocturnal. They are totally active all day long, hardly hiding at all. Sometimes I walk up to the tank when the lights have been off for an hour to see all my loaches packed into a cave sleeping. They have their spot that they like to go when the lights are off and I believe they stay there until morning.

You would be surprised how many clown loaches have been bred in captivity and change their lifestyle totally. Almost all captive-bred clown loaches are no longer nocturnal. You can see groups parading around the tank all day waiting for you to feed them.;)

i feed mine tetra Prima and mussel. they seem to love mussel. My clowns stay up all day waiting for me to feed them
