Clown loach in quarantine, sick?

Just got some new clown loaches 2 weeks ago, before adding him I want to make sure this ‘scar’ is not a fungus or something
It could be a scar because he was at an ugly aquarium at the store but I am not sure

I attached the best pics, but he is so skiddish

he is not happy at this quarantine (20gallon,) I believe he will be happier with the school so would like to move him ASAP if it’s safe

It doesn’t look good overall. I would treat the external looking wounds and fin damage with Seachem Paraguard and have Seachem Kanaplex on hand just in case

looks like damage unrelated to a disease on an unhealthy loach(i dont know what hes with or if theres things to damage himself on). kanaplax worked absolute wonders on my khuli loaches highly recommend. i would quarantine and work on making him all around healthier. using stressguard, garlic, maybe deworm him, and all that good stuff. but most importantly good food and excellent water should get him back in shape. if it is just loaches that were with him and theres no rocks or things for him to hurt himself on he could have a fungul infection/fin rot but imo if he does have these things theres a root cause that needs addressed first.
 
also i understand that youre anxious looking at a stressed fish and that you think hed be happier with his school, which could be true but its best to go through with a treatment. if you add substrate and hiding places(cannot stress the importance of hiding areas in qt enough) for him in the QT his stress levels will go down 1000%. im sure with sand healthy feedings and possibly meds hed be allot better off. youre right for noticing the stress levels hes going through in QT but i think youre misidentifying the cause. botia loaches can be really rough on eachother which could be the route of the problem anyway. just give him time and make sure that he has the amenities to be comfortable in a smaller tank.
 
or even better yet treat all your loaches because all the ones in the pictures look unhealthy and like they could have parasites/skinny disease.
