Clown loach just up and gone....?

I've got a good one for you. I had 6 clowns, and had one disappear, a few weeks later, i took the tank down, moved 3 hours away, and reset it up. The next day i had 6 loaches again

Wow, that's crazy! I have one loach from my gang that loves my rena heater. Likes to hang out on the heater and even down this narrow tube at the back that I didn't even know was there until I searched everywhere and spotted his tail sticking out of the slots at the bottom of the heater.
Yes, pesky loaches, one of my clowns managed to squeeze under a PVC pipe tube in my tank last night... only knew he was there from his mouth poking out. WHY? Who knows? Clowns... sigh.
the other day I found a tail sticking out of my Power Head, so i go take a closer look and one of my smaller clowns was inside the power head cage taking an afternoon nap. I took the power head out and shook the clown out! I added a finer mesh now so no more loaches can squeeze into the power head... luckily the power head was unplugged otherwise it would have been clown chowder for Lunch =D I
Cliff, my buddy lost a 14" black ghost knifefish that way (that he had grown out from 3"). The guard popped off his powerhead and the BGK's face got stuck in it... BGKs love anything mechanical so he was just being curious. What a sad day!

OH man sorry to hear that! the Clean up must have been messy! I was thinking about the what would have happened if I plugged in the power head without seeing that little tail sticking out. I still check twice now even though I have the finer mesh cap on the power head now.

One of my juvie CL's is in looooove with my Koralia powerhead! He'll sneak away from the shoal, then just lay on top of the intake strainer (while its running) & let it...ummmm...how do I edit this?..flow?...over him... When he sees me looking, he gets all embarassed & runs under the log with everyone else. Teenagers!

lol... Once I get the oppertunity to get a bigger tank the first thing I'll do is buy a whole army of clowns. I've only witnessed a schoal of 19 and I've seen them get crazier and crazier when I add more and more but I wonder how they would act with a population of 200+!
