hi,

Can anyone help me on who is better Clean-up crew and compatible with Frontosa fishes?
I am having a hard to deciding on getting Clown loaches or Multi. Synodontis with Frontosa in a 125 Gallon tank.

Thanks

I have Clown Loaches with my Frontosas

I really need a good clean up crew because my Frontosa are soo lazy and scared sometimes unless starving to come out and chase the food

For about a month or so, they are fine, and loaches are fun to watch clean the bottom, going to pick up 2 more in a week or so.

nice...i bought a few couple days ago but haven't put them together with the Frontosa. They are fun to watch. The more i see them, the more i want to buy. But i do want a heavy eater as a clean up crew with my Frontosa.
Thanks for the reply Kanta. I will go buy some more tomorrow and put them in with Frontosa

Np, take it easy

Some people don't like the idea of CL with frontosa as they are from different water parameters.

Fronts like a high ph close to 86

CL like a lower ph in the 6's

check out s. petricola that would be my choice

i have had 7 clowns with 3 frontosas and other aggressive cichlids and a Synodontis for the last 3 years . got the loaches at about a 1/2" have been fine ever since. they are in a 210 with alot of places to scurry into or under

Loaches will be a better clean up crew, they will hunt out pellets or food non stop. BUT, I'd go for a few Synodontis regardless. They will do a good enough job and are more suitable IMO.
