Clown loach prices

I think I must live in the most expensive state in the world to buy clown loaches. My local fish store has a price tag of $20.00 each or 2 for $35.00.

They are much more active in groups, I like a minimum of 5

If they get any more active than the two I have, the water at the top will be boiling

I pay $20 a piece for 2" clown loaches here.

I have a school of about 12 now.

I remember back in the 90's when clown loaches were like $3 for a 1-2" specimen. Now they're around $8. It's definitely not inflation, not all of it at least. Maybe it's due to the wild population being overfished? What do you guys think? Years from now, CL's will be listed as endangered, so no matter how expensive they are right now, I'm going to stock up. My dad and I regularly clean out petsmart and LFS of their clown loaches!

EDIT: I should probably try TFD shouldn't I? What's the survival rate of the fish you guys order? I'm thinking about getting a huge order of 2-3" clown loaches next time they are on special.
