Is a 75 gallon actually fine for a clown loach school? could 4 live comfortably in there for life!?
Haha I want to upgrade with them I do not like letting my fish go when I get them! so would maybe this kind of stock work for like 5 or 6 years? 4 clown loach, 9 tiger barbs, 9 serpae tetra 1 bristlenose pleco?
same goes for me, I have mine in a 150, shoal of 7, 3 of which are now pushing the 6-7" mark. I agree they swim so much they need the room.Thinking it MIGHT work for that long. But I'd swap out the bristlenose for another clown loach. Personally I feel 5 should be the minimum size group. Plus the more of them you keep, the more social and outgoing they are.
To give you an idea for the long term, I have a shoal of 11 in a 5'×2'×2' 150 gallon. 4 of them are 8-9"+, and I really feel they could use another foot of tank.
sounds fine to me. a small power head might not hurt, mine love to swim into the currents.Ok well I will try to get 6 clowns for 5 years my goal will be to upgrade to a 125 for them! But you think that they will truly last 5 years for me? I will do everything to make their life perfect for the time being I perform 1 60 percent water change a week and I have 2 marineland emperor 400s and a canister for the tank I will be ok then? Sorry I just dont want to mess up the lives of the clown loaches.
I'd almost forgo one of the schools or cut both down by a few fish just to be safe...that's just me though. stay up on water changes and it should be alright.Awesome I'm really glad you think my plan is good! So those 2 large schools and the clown loaches will be fine as far as bioload??![]()
