If he had hi nitrite & the cycle hadn't kicked over yet I would worry about a nitrate spike, but he has nothing in the water apparently. Either you're reading the test wrong or you haven't even started cycling yet...

As above poster says really, you need to get a proper test kit, or retest and find out what is going on for the sake of your fish.
