So i noticed that 4 of my 9 CL has black spots on the bottom of their fat stomachs.

anyone ever seen this? Im thinking they might have ate some of the Black sand (colorquartz T grade). If they did, will they excrete the sand, or will it remain in their tummy

Pictures?

I have mine in an aquarium with colorquartz sand and i dont think they ever swallowed any. Some have a black spot on their belly as part of their coloration - are you sure they weren't there this whole time?

its the first time i seen them, well first time i check under their belly. but it doesnt look like its apart of their coloration

ill try to get pictures soon

so one of my loachs suddenly got a black spot on him.

That happens... Probably nothing to worry about unless he starts acting funny. I've noticed that my oddballs occasionally show slight pattern changes as they mature & get healthier, but I've never seen these changes in my standard-patterned CL's. I have no idea why that is, but in my tanks the phenomenon seems to be limited to the oddballs. This will sound wierd, but can you tell if its on/just under the skin or if its deeper into the gut?

it looks like its under the skin, maybe in the gut. its greyish not a dark black

Keep an eye on it. If it changes shape or moves I would go ahead & use Garlic extract to treat the tank for IP's. Dont use a chemical medication until you're sure its a parasite, but if so, attack with full force! Homemade or store-bought anti-parasite food, anti-parasite meds (like Levimasole, Parasite Clear or API General Cure), garlic-soaked high protein diet, etc. followed by filter carbon & close observation.
