They are very attractive fish and very difficult to raise to full size. They are common and you can find them at any LFS. However, not very many people have the skills or patience to raise them to their full potential...I know so many people who have purchased dozens of CL's, but not very many have raised them over 8 inches. I don't even know of a person who raised their CL from 1" to over 12". I have seen CL's over 12", but they were all purchased large. Honestly, a school of 10 CL's from 8" to 13" was more impressive to me, than 8 ST's sitting in the tank next to them!
I tried once to raise CL's and they all died after three months. Never had any real desire to try again. Just don't have the patience to grow them to monster size...
