My clowns go crazy for frozen bloodworms. A couple of them recently figured out that the big floating cube at the top is the source of the tasty morsels floating all over. They typically get hikari sinking carnivore pellets that they tear apart and they get vocal when it comes to sinking carnivore wafers.
I got some spirulina wafer's for my loach and pleco's but left them on the shelf under my tank , when i got back the same night my bl**dy cat had ate all but 3 of them , mine like shelled pea's aswell.
Now that I think about it, my loaches have never rejected any food I have put into the tank, whether it was intended for them or not. They destroy black worms which I use when they are small, and love any protein based food as they grow (eathworms, mussels, cichlid sticks, algae tabs etc). They also go after and veggie I intend for the plecos, like sweet potato, zuchini, cucs, etc. They eat it all, but I think do best on the high protein stuff primarily, with the veggies mixed in.
As stated before, my loaches eat everything I put in the tank. I have recently started to put in Massivore Delight in the tank once or twice a week. The Loaches seem to go crazy for it. Since I started doing that, it seems that they don't swarm on the other pellets as fast as they use to.
People that feed Loaches Black Worms or Earth Worms, where are you getting these? Are you digging them up in your backyard? Just curious, I might have to give them a try.
I have the same problem with my betta and guppies and mollies in my tank. I usually either use the eye dropper to squirt the bloodworms on the gravel where my loaches find them like vacuum cleaners with brains hahaha, or i bury the worms in the gravel (not very deeply though) and they love digging for them! I am addicted to my clown loaches
use a pvc pipe if you need to feed them at the bottom.
Mine eat shrimp pellets, krill pellets, flakes, and cichlid pellets they sometimes grab from the surface. Also I feed them brine shrimp, bloodworms, and krill.
