clown loaches and stingray???

I have three clowns (4"-5") in a 260 gallon tank with my 9" Male Marbled Motoro and have never had any issues. Actually, quite the opposite, as the clowns do a great job cleaning-up the scraps of market shrimp that I feed the ray. I have even seen the three clowns swimming on-top of the stingray as it moves through the tank...pretty cool to watch them swim together accross the tank.

I have 15 clown loaches in with my two very large mature female marbled motoros. The loaches are 6.5-9" and the female rays are about 16" and 18" disk diameter. I keep the rays well fed and the loaches have some driftwood to hide under where the rays can not get at them. Been a couple months so far and so far so good.

Many very experienced ray keepers have told me that loaches are a bad idea with rays....

More-so because the rays may eventually attempt to eat the loaches, and the spines on the loaches will become lodged in the mouth and cause death for the rays. I have personally not tried it, and don't intend to.
