Is there such a thing as over-feeding a clown loach? I have 10 of them and I never seem to satify their appetite. I just feel sorry for the other fish in the tank because I think the Clowns steal most of the food. The competition for food is fierce.

BTW, Clown Loaches ROCK!!!

Overfeeding with loaches is when you leave food accummulating to the bottom and let them rot. The fish has its limits. They are opportunistic by nature. Feed them within 5 minutes only.

Mine are all around 2 1/2 inches, so if they manage to grab a piece of krill, they end up with hilariously fat stomachs.

Just to be clear, I don't over-feed my loaches. I don't want anyone to think that there is a buch of rotting fish food on the bottom of my tank. I just like how the loaches are constantly begging for food whenever I approach the tank. They beg for food more than my dog does.

Sounds like your loaches are perfectly fine.

My feedings are usually 4-5 minutes, but they'd eat more.

Fish are opportunistic. They don't get as much food in the wild as they do in captivity but we need to exercise control on their feeding regimen or else they suffer from digestive upsets such as bloat and constipation.

Rubberband a piece of defrosted tilapia to a rock. Sink it to the bottom. I usually leave that in the tank for 2 hours at a time for them to pick on. In addition to some frozen bloodworms.
