If you really want them Id probably get a 20 gal grow out tank for them. One thing Ive learned from my larger cichlids is, if it can fit in their mouth it will most likly end up there. Put em in a 20 and let them grow for a few months. At 3-4" they should be safe, just make sure there are tons of hiding spots.
Which cichlids? If Rift Valley, no can do. Clown loaches needed a large tank and currents to replicate their environment. They also like to establish their own territories and any interference done as evident with cichlids will simply not make them happy.Bsixxx;866153; said::0
