Clown Loaches not acclimating

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Update: they are schooling now. Eating sinking carnivore pellets, frozen bw, ocassional cucumber, and Boyd's vitamin sinking granules. They will be going to their new home next week.

well, they all made it to the big tank with great success! They are eating just about anything I throw in the tank and competing with bigger fish for food now. They usually school in a group of about 20 or so (too fast to take an accurate count), with the others hiding out. I will post pics of them soon!

Isn't adding regular sized doses of salt generally considered bad for Loaches?

Yes it is. I only added salt when I first got them. No continuing doses.

Here is a photo of about half of the school scavenging at the end of feeding time. For size reference: that's a 5" discus, 5" angelfish, 5" geophagus, 5"+ Sevrum, and 7" L75 pleco.

Hi, good to hear that your clowns are out & about now.
Can you please give me some advise on how did you get them to start to swimm around, i just got 4 more myself and two of them are 4-5 inches but keeps on hiding all day and making my previous 3 clowns to go shy as well. my tank is 6x2x2 with 3 large driftwood, they only hide in one as the other 2 has no place to hide, but i dont understand why they not comming out even to feed, just see 2 or 3 at a time. It would be much appreciated if you can give me some closure. Thanks
