I am setting up a 4x2x2.5h and want to add some clown loaches with my green terror male. How many loaches would be a good number without over stocking. I was thinking 4 but I know a group of 6 they would be more comfortable. So how many would be good for the life of the fish? Thanks

CL wont be a good fit in a 4 foot 120 as they get large but you could do the 6 for a year or 2 when they get big and by that time you could resell them for more $$$ or get a bigger tank

Long-term they'd outgrow the 4 x 2 foot tank, but they are really slow-growing so depending on what size you start with you might have quite a while before you need to rehome, sell, or upgrade to a larger tank.

I would do 6-8 so you can really see the shoaling effect. Will make them happier too. They grow super slow so I’m sure they’ll be okay in that tank for a good while. Climb that mountain once you get there and switch to a bigger tank. For now I don’t see a problem.
