Clown loaches with Ick.

i have 2-250w stealth heaters on my 150 and it takes a day or two to go up to 88* but stay away from chems. rough fish (fish without scales) especially loaches cannot tolerate some chems. It may take a few days before you see an improvement. i'd leave them in the main tank and do your ich treatment in there because the ich is already in there. if you Q them and put them back, you may be putting them back into an ich infested tank. give it time

good point, maybe I will slowly add some hot water to the tank to help out the heaters.

not too fast because you want the fish to acclimate slowly. Ich tends to be a sign of stressed or poorly kept fish so you dont want to raise the temp too quickly and stress them more

I know, I feel stupid asking for ick advice but at the same time I'm not sure if its different for loaches. I've currently got the 100gallon up to 85* and its still climbing. Hopefully the white spots are at least gone by tomorrow. The water quality is great, I think the stocklist is just getting to be too much for the tank. I've added the xp3 and 2 powerheads which should keep the tank spotless. I've just waiting for stuff to pair off so I can move it and get rid of the rest of their species. I've currently got 3 different types of amphilophus in there, about 5 of each species. I guess the stock is just too much for the tank to handle, I might just move the loaches to a smaller "friendly" tank since their not as hardy as the cichlids.

a accidental 93* water seems to be killing off the ick pretty well lol, none of the fish yet though. I bumped the heaters down a couple of hours ago and now the tank sits at about 89*. I was surprised, my fish were doing really well in the 93* water.
