I am very skeptical about that account of breeding loaches. Any knowledgeable fishkeeper would make it known instantly, and provide photographs. Sounds like hogwash to me.

A buddy of mine who is from Jakarta...told me he used to 'catch' clown loaches that were over two feet!!!!!! He said they died easily/quickly once they're out of the water.

I don't think it's impossilbe to see a 2 foot clown loach. These guys grow larger in the wild. It must have been a really old clown loach though.

Ya know.... I don't think he was BS-ing.... I was bragging about how huge my group of 12-15" or even 16" loaches were... and he just started telling me the story of his childhood. And if ur wondering about my story...My loaches were in a 650 gallon or so tank in my pet store in Rowland Hts California about 10 years ago. I'm sure some of my past clients/friends will back me up on this one. I purchased them thur a transhipper named Dolphin Enterprises for about 100 bucks a pop. They were label as 12" plus...I had about eight of them and my tank seemed very cramped!!!

My clown loaches are well on their way to 11inches. They are fat pigs.
