is it safe to keep more than one kind of clownfish in a tank together, and/or multiples of a certain species? wanna go pokemon style, gotta collect em all!tank is a 100g 5x18.

till now, i've never read that it wouldnt work, and it has for me. at one point i had a pair of occellaris, a clark's, and a tomato in one tank. tried adding a pink skunk but the tomato beat it up.

1pair of Clarkiis,1pair of false perculas and 1 gold barred maroon clown. My friend has a 90 gallon with three different pairs of clownfish. A pair of Tomato's,a pair of Maroons, and a pair of False perculas.

Congrats on the multiple clowns... While it is possible it's not the norm.

id agree with that as well. A lot of fighting happens when theres not enough "home" space for all of them. 1 anemone and 3 different species of clowns may lead to a battle over the anemone, thus leading to stress, disease and even death. I would always only recommend getting a pair per tank or 1 type of clown per tank, because its easier to work with rather then possible fights breaking out. Just my thoughts though.

is it recommended to only keep 2 of the same species of clown fish? im starting up a sw tank and wanted 4-5 clown fish. ive also seen pictures of many clown fish in an aquarium in japan.
