Right now I've got 4 Loaches each in 2 of the 125 gal tanks, there's 2 Oscars in each 125 g with the Loaches, they do great. I hated to split the Loach group up but they're just so dang useful in an Oscar tank, they're almost getting too fat. Both pairs of Oscars grew up with Loaches and the Loaches are between 4"-6" and chunky. The Oscars just ignore them and I don't think they could catch them if they tried anyway. No more gill spewings flying all over the tank, the Loaches snatch up every bit of it.
 
Oscars aren't usually aggressive with fish that aren't conspecific. Just make sure the loaches are big enough that the Oscar won't have an orange and black lunch.
 
If the O's can't eat the loaches, they should be fine.
