Sadly, my baby CL cleanup crew seems to have come down with some nasty ich.

Tried Voogle treatment but it isn't doing the trick. Water temp is in the 85-88 range.

Thinking of doing the salt treatment. Do I add half the salt and do it for a longer period of time or what? I know they're scaleless fish so I figured they need less aquarium salt than average.

If anybody has a recommended ratio in terms of spoonful/gallon for treating clown loaches for ich, that would be very very helpful.

Thanks!

I used 1 tablespoon of salt per 5 gallons of water when I treated my 10 clown loaches. They were all a bit larger (between 4" to 8"), but all of them came through like champs. I would personally go full dosage, especially if it's a nasty case of Ich.

I have had good results with 1 tablespoon of salt for every 5 gallons. But I worked my way up from 1 tablespoon per 10 gallons.

ya man ive gone even stronger than that and had my temp at 90 and 2 weeks it was gone be patient tho it might get worse for a day or 2 then starts getting better

Ended up holding off till today to do it because I wanted to check one thing out first.

So I basically just add the salt, keep the temp up, and wait? Don't do a WC for 2 weeks or so? If so, should I do a big WC before adding the salt so that the fish have clean water for the treatment period?

IMO I would still do water changes and just add the amount of salt in for new water added. Clean water is also a huge factor in helping treat ich.
