For a tank like that a 5 lb tank will do, a 10 lb would be good as well. As far as how long it lasts, that depends on how fast you use it. An estimate would be 6-24 months.
My 5lb bottle lasts about 9 months at 10 hours per day, 3 bubbles per second. It is on a timer with my lights. An air pump with stone comes on ten minutes before the lights/co2 cuts off and remains on until 10 minutes after the lights/co2 are back on. This helps prevent suffocation of my fish. The regulators on all my tanks are by Blueline. They include built in bubble counters and check valves.
Thanks for the info. The reason I thought about going with a 20 # tank was because I think I found one for a very reasonable price. Basically the price of a 5 # tank, so why not, right?!
it's used, it was new in 03'. Heck, $180 new or used for a 20#. Dude if that is the case, I should keep my eyes open and grab another and ship it out there for someone to help them save some cash!!!
Ok, I bought one for $66, but I am picking it up to save the $25 shipping. It is in Danville, IL and I am going past there in about 12 days, so I hope he lets me wait to pick it up. If he doesn't, it will be about a 1.5 hour drive one way to get it. Now I need a regulator, and if I could find one used that would be great!!!
bigger the better. i have a 10 20 and a i think its a 50 pound co2 tank. $66 is a really good deal. its costly but rex grigg has some good stuff. top of the line i think.
