i recently set up a 65 gallon tank with the following plants-

echinodorous amazonicus
crinium natans
echinodorus x barthil
echinodorous "rose"
hygrophilia (not sure which species)
brazilian pennywort
and echinodorous ozelot

the lighting is 2x 36" hagen GLO HO t5 light fixtures ( 4x 39W, 4x 6700 lumens)

pressurized co2 is not an option for me because its just too expensive:irked:

if i used the diy method, how many bottles would i need to use and if i used an airstone as a diffuser would it effectively dissolve the co2 bubbles in the water????

For that much light, you worded it weird (I think you meant to say 4 39W 6700K bulbs), you will need at least 4. Personally IF I were to run reaction co2, I'd do 6 bottles.

i'll use four bottles but, still i need to know if an airstone will work as an effective diffuser

Limewood will work, as well as a select few other diffusers. Standard air diffusers will not work.

cermaic might work and if not they sell lil diffusers on ebay... go to ebay and type CO2 diffuser... they work fairly well, pick up 4 of those
