you need to flip the fish and check if there's one or 2 holes. (1 hole male and 2 holes female)

That's totally wrong. Both male and female Channa have two holes and they look nearly the same in both sexes.

I *think* you have id:d them right but it's hardest to tell with Channa from a side angle unfortunately. Can you upload some photos of them taken head on or from above?
