cobras look good, but arent they vicious and how big can they get?

Pikes are just misunderstood...they are sometimes more aggressive than some cichlids, and to me are more intelligent, which makes them a bit more 'above' other cichlids. In all reality, you can keep pikes wit lots of other cichlids as long as you use common sense and introduce them around the same time. I've kept my pikes with oscars, jags, salvini, other pikes, severums, true parrots, jurupari, geos, and red devils just to name a few. Ya just gotta watch them and see how they react to the fish...;)

Crenicichla semifasciata thats it cool lil bugger if i had the room would have bought him my pike are really laid back dont mess wit me wont mess wit u and my large one is with a breeding pair of jag and a rd so it takes alot to get him to attack other fish but i have noticed that they will take shot at fish when they are fighting like breakin it up crazy purple

me experience with pikes has been that they are a little on the aggressive side. of corse they have all been orange pikes so i dont know if it was just that species. penut has your experience been that orange's are meaner then most or is it just mine? granted i agree they have all seemed very intelligent i can almost see him thinking. hes very curious everytime i stick my hand in to move stuff around, new tank mates, he runs up to everything new just to "check it out" it seems. like i said i love my little guy. btw what is the orange pikes scien name? xingu II right? just a guess.
