Interesting...

I've been looking for inverts to (potentially) add to a large south american themed aquarium/pond, and these seem very interesting. I'm just collecting info on interesting looking species at the moment, but this certainly fits the bill.

Do you have links to any place with more info? Spanish (or even french) sites are OK, if you have nothing in English.

Hi ,
I got 4 and lost one.
Their the same species A. platensis as the most recent photo.
They are from South America with most in the trade originating from Argentina and like fast flowing streams . High oxygen ,fresh water , ph 7.5 , feed on insect lava but take most sinking foods . They live in little groups and breed quite easily, their mostly nocturnal .They dont tollerate warm water and should not be kept above 70. I've only the once seen them in England but they are more easily obtained in Germany. I've heard of white Aegla p. being available but havent heard of any other species other than A. p. coming onto the market.
All the best,
G. John

NICE! Hes right. Those have only 6 legs not counting the pincers. A cray would have at least 8 (again not counting pincers)

That's very cool, I have never seen them either. Thanks for the pics!
